Omega Speedmaster Date -03

Compared to Rolex Milgauss and its GlideLock mechanism, this Speedmaster Date somehow manages to hold its place in being the other of the two best fitting watches to date. To me, at least. In completely different price ranges, two really different types of watches, that is not a small thing to recognize. It might be pure luck that the Omega's bracelet fit perfectly, the case was just of the perfect size and weight. Be as it may, this is the piece that I regret flipping the most!

So, this is still on my short list if I happen to stumple upon similar item with an excellent price. It's like the little brother of the classic manual-wind Speedmaster seen in space (adverts) and Apollo missions. Though, I usually try to find something special in the watches I acquire (and then flip) nowadays, there's absolutely nothing of that sort in this one; just your basic stainless steel three button chrono with standard bracelet and a mid-range luxury brand name.

Still I want it back so bad!

For those who are interested, the specs go like:

Omega Speedmaster Date
ref: 3513.50.00
Automatic chronograph
39mm diameter
Sapphire glass
Hippocampus logo back
Calibre 1152 (ETA/Valjoux 7750)

Just the best of the average, in my opinion.
